As a nature enthusiast and avid gardener, Dorothy creates unique porcelain designs inspired by the natural world. Many of the flora and fauna themes come from her garden. Her pieces are functional and organic in form, graceful, and striking in color. Dorothy's unique designs bring the life and beauty of nature into the home.
Dorothy uses high-fired porcelain to create her functional art. Each piece is individually hand-built or wheel-thrown, sometimes carved, and embellished with hand-crafted bas-relief clay appliques. Each applique is hand-coated with carefully blended colored glazes to create a stained-glass or watercolor effect.
